Nairobi County is expected to experience cool and cloudy mornings and short sunny intervals from Friday to Saturday according to the weather man.
However, the temperatures are likely to rise slightly on Sunday and Monday when sunny intervals are expected the whole day but day time temperatures are likely to start declining again from Tuesday.
Giving a weekly review of the weather forecast for Nairobi County as well as review of last week, Nairobi County Meteorological Department chief, Mary Kilavi said there is however a slight chance of afternoon showers over few places on Monday.
During the last one week, Kilavi said the County experienced cool conditions but it gradually got warmer up to Monday, July 3 after which cold and chilly conditions set in abruptly on Tuesday as had been anticipated.
There was no appreciable rainfall during the period but a few places experienced some drizzle on Tuesday morning. Maximum temperatures dropped drastically from 27 degrees Celcius on Monday to 19 degrees Celsius on Tuesday at JKIA and from 22 degree C to 16.8 degree C at Ngong, she said.
Kilavi explained that this was caused by intensification of a high pressure system in the Southern hemisphere coupled with a moisture influx from the west. Night time temperatures increased slightly due to the overcast conditions
The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded over the county during the period were highest on July 2 at 27 degrees centigrade while the minimum was experienced on July 4 at 16 degrees.
