Manhunt for killer in love triangle

Police in Kericho County have launched a manhunt for a suspect who allegedly killed a man at Chebigen village Friday on suspicion of having an affair with his wife.

The killer is said to have waylaid the deceased, identified as Vincent Maritim, 39, as he left his home and reportedly attacked him with a panga at 6.30am inflicting deep cuts in his face and head and then disappeared.

Confirming the incident, Kericho OCPD Justus Kitetu said Maritim was found by villagers lying on a feeder road at a tea plantation bleeding profusely and they rushed him to Kericho County referral hospital. He passed on while undergoing treatment.

The body was moved to Kericho County referral hospital mortuary awaiting post mortem.

From our investigations, the killing is as a result of a love triangle. The suspect is still at large. I am appealing to members of the public to provide information on the suspect’s whereabouts to the police and he will be arrested to face murder charges, said Kitetu.
