NAIROBI, Kenya has positioned itself as a premier wedding and honeymoon destination in the region with the Kenya Tourism Board (KTB) showcasing the country’s potential at the Bride and Groom Expo hosted by the Vision Group of Uganda which ended Sunday.
Uganda is currently the Number 1 market in Africa and Number 4 globally having recorded a 75 per cent increase from last year. We are happy that the integrated approach to grow the market through campaigns and joint initiatives is bearing fruit and want to take advantage of platforms which keep Kenya at the top of the mind, says KTB chief executive officer Dr Betty Radier.
KTB partnered with the Expo organizers to leverage on this vantage positioning with a view of growing the number of visitors from Uganda to Kenya. Radier said exclusive packages for honeymooners and wedding events have been developed to accommodate varied clientele visiting different parts of the country.
The expo attracted some 8,000 trade visitors during the three days and presented them an opportunity to visit the Magical Kenya stand where they sampled tastes of Kenya’s culture.
