Angolan President Jose Eduardo dos Santos has invited his Kenyan counterpart, President Uhuru Kenyatta to attend a summit meeting being organized in Luanda on Oct 26 to discuss the crisis in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
The invitation was contained in a message delivered Kenyan Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Amina Mohamed by Angolan Ambassador to Kenya Virgilio Marques de Faria in Nairobi on Monday, according to a statement received from the Angolan Embassy in Nairobi.
The 7th High Level Meeting of the Supervisory Mechanism of the Framework Agreement for Peace, Security and Co-operation in the DRC is being organized by Angola as the current chair of the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region (ICGLR), in co-ordination with the United Nations and the African Union (AU).
Amina has assured that President Kenyatta will be present at the summit meeting.
